Hands-on soft tissue work and myofascial decompression (cupping) to ease tight, overworked muscles, restore comfortable movement and help you recover faster from training and injury.
Soft tissue mobilization is skilled, hands-on pressure and movement applied to muscles, tendons and fascia to reduce tension, ease pain and improve how tissues glide and stretch.
Myofascial decompression, often called cupping, uses cups that create gentle suction. Instead of pressing down, it lifts the skin and underlying tissue. We often have you move while the cups are on, which can make tight areas feel noticeably freer.
Both techniques calm an overactive nervous system, improve comfort and prepare your body to move and strengthen better.

Hands-on work and cupping increase local blood flow, which many people find helps recovery.
Less guarding means smoother, more comfortable motion in training and daily life.
Manual techniques can calm the stress response and help your body let go of protective tension.
A useful tool for athletes managing soreness and heavy training blocks.
Cupping has become popular with athletes, and for good reason. Many people find it helps tight areas feel freer and less painful.
At OLO it’s used thoughtfully, alongside hands-on care and exercise, not as a stand-alone fix.
Suction lifts the tissue, which can be more comfortable than deep pressure for sensitive areas.
Active movement during cupping helps restore comfortable range of motion.
Circular marks are common and usually fade within a few days to a week.

Often, yes. Cupping can leave round, darker marks where the cups were. They aren’t typical bruises, aren’t usually painful, and generally fade within a few days to a week.
It’s different. Soft tissue work at OLO is targeted, based on your evaluation, and always paired with exercise and a plan. The goal is to change how you move, not just to feel good for an afternoon.
No. Hands-on techniques, including cupping, are part of your 60-minute session.
OLO is cash-based and out-of-network, which is how every visit stays a full 60 minutes one-on-one. HSA/FSA cards are accepted, and we can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. See our FAQ.
Soft tissue work and cupping are adjusted or avoided in some situations. Tell Dr. Joe if any of these apply:
Dr. Joe screens every patient first and will always explain the options. You choose what you’re comfortable with.
Tell us what’s going on. We’ll call or text to get you scheduled, or set up a free consultation if you’d like to talk it through first.
