A full hour, one-on-one, every visit, with a board-certified orthopedic specialist. We find what’s actually driving your pain and get you back to lifting, running and living, without pills, injections or unnecessary surgery.
You stretched, you foam rolled, you took the ibuprofen, maybe you even did a round of PT. The pain backed off for a while, then came right back the minute you got after it again.
Fifteen minutes with the PT, then a handout and an aide counting your reps while three other patients wait. Nobody ever figured out why it hurts.
A prescription, a cortisone shot, a “good luck,” and eventually the word surgery. None of it fixes how you move.
Skipping lifts, cutting runs short, turning down the ski trip. The pain isn’t just in your joint anymore. It’s running your calendar.
The problem usually isn’t you. It’s a model built around insurance visit caps instead of finding the root cause.
Dr. Joe founded OLO in 2020 to fix everything that frustrates people about traditional PT: rushed visits, insurance dictating the plan, and cookie-cutter exercises. Here’s what you get instead.
From a back that locks up after deadlifts to a shoulder that won’t let you press overhead, if it’s keeping you from training, working or playing, we can help.

Manual therapy, dry needling and specific exercise prescription get stiff, irritated areas moving and feeling better, often starting on day one.
We progress you back to full training, then leave you with an individualized plan to keep the gains and stay out of trouble for the long haul.

Joe is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and board-certified orthopedic specialist with a simple mission: keep people doing the activities they love and away from pills, injections and unnecessary surgery.
He practices what he preaches. Football, wrestling, jiu jitsu, CrossFit, skiing, Olympic weightlifting and hiking have all been part of his life, so he understands what it means to be told to “just stop doing it,” and he won’t tell you that.
My primary care doctor recommended Dr. Joe to address a sciatic nerve issue, and I’m so glad he did. Dr. Joe quickly helped me improve my mobility and reduce my lower back pain with several different techniques. On a deeper level, Dr. Joe also gave me confidence, motivation, and knowledge to improve my health in the long run.
I am an experienced CrossFit athlete (10+ yrs) and I recently developed shoulder pain. I started working with Joe to fix my shoulder. Working with him is great! He has a tremendous passion for his work and has a wealth of knowledge about body mechanics. His approach is comprehensive.
Joe guided me through PT for my knee to successfully complete a half marathon this past summer. At my worst, I couldn’t jog over 30 minutes without acute knee pain. Joe quickly identified the issues, developed a rigorous exercise plan, and continued tweaking and building upon the plan to progress strength and endurance.

OLO is a cash-based, out-of-network practice. That’s what lets every visit be a full 60 minutes with Dr. Joe, with no visit caps, no waiting on authorizations, and no one but you and Joe deciding what your plan looks like.
If your plan has out-of-network benefits, we can give you a superbill to submit for possible reimbursement.
Yes. Many of our clients pay for their care with a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
Not to get started. Michigan is a direct access state, so you can see a physical therapist for up to 21 days or 10 visits, whichever comes first, without a referral. If you need care beyond that, a physician’s referral or signed plan of care is required to continue.
You get a full 60 minutes, one-on-one with Dr. Joe. We talk through your history and goals, do a thorough movement assessment, and explain what’s driving your pain. Treatment, including manual therapy or dry needling, usually starts that same day, and you leave with a plan.
Rehab where you can actually train. Our private treatment space sits inside Wolverine Strength and Conditioning on State Circle, just off US-23 and I-94.

Tell us what’s going on. We’ll call or text to get you scheduled, or set up a free consultation if you’d like to talk it through first.
